Endless Praises by Stephen Altrogge
(Sovereign Grace Ministries)

Chorus 1
Let us lift up endless praises
Let us give Him endless song
Let us lift up endless praises
Let us sing of all He’s done
Let us sing of all our God has done

Verse 1
Look upon this fearful scene
The King of Love nailed to a tree
The Prince of Glory made to bleed
Hear the pardon that He speaks
Forgive them is His plea
Where has love like this been seen (chorus)

Verse 2
Look upon this wondrous sight
Foul sinners clothed in white
With the righteousness of Christ
All our guilt is washed away
Every debt we owed is paid
How astounding is this grace (chorus)

Misc 1
(BRIDGE)
A thousand ages is not long enough
To tell the glories of the Son
Forever we will sing
Redemption’s song
And of the victory You’ve won (chorus)

REVIEW by John Kehl

Verse 1 points us to the cross where Jesus died for our sins.  Verse 2 is a beautiful proclamation of law and gospel, of justification through Christ.  The joyful refrain gives praises to God for all that He has done, as explained in verse 1 and 2.   A good contemporary song with a solid gospel message.  I would recommend this song for WELS Blended Worship.

Sovereign Grace Ministries produces and distributes CCM songs for churches with a emphasis on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The following quote, from their SovereignGraceMusic.org “about” page, describes their passion and mission:

For more than twenty years, Sovereign Grace Ministries has been producing songs for congregational worship. Our goal is to provide local churches with new songs characterized by biblical truth and consuming passion that honors God. While our lyrics cover a broad variety of Scriptural topics, we continually return to God’s glory revealed in Christ’s atoning sacrifice on the cross—the gospel. Our hearts and lives have been transformed by the Savior, and we can’t help singing about what is “of first importance” (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). Like Charles Wesley, we wish we had “a thousand tongues to sing our great Redeemer’s praise.” We pray the songs we write will produce the same desire in you and your church, for the glory of God.

I was excited about the many good solid gospel focused CCM songs on their website; I was disappointed to find out that, like the songwriter Charles Wesley,  they are of a Reformed background.  Still, their Sovereign Grace song database is filled with many songs with good solid lyrics.
